After a very long engagement, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth officially married on Dec. 23rd at their home in Tennessee. It was super low key, with both their immediate families and friends.
It’s been almost 10 years since the couple met on the set of The Last Song (I feel old). They got engaged three years later in 2012 only to break up in 2013 during her twerking era. By 2016 they were back together.
Miley has called Liam her “survival partner.” It’s not that long ago that Cyrus and Hemsworth’s house burned down in the California wildfire. I can believe that something that horrible can bring you closer together and make you reassess what’s important in life.
A source has told PEOPLE they “aren’t in a rush” to start a family. That makes sense. She’s 26 and he’s 28. They have the rest of their lives to feel constantly tired.
As for her gown, it was a made-to-order Vivienne Westwood, costing $8,600. I love it. It’s a classic bridal dress made by a punk designer, which seems to fit Miley’s aesthetic. She’s also designed my favorite movie dress of all time: Carrie Bradshaw’s spectacular wedding gown which ended up going to waste. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE BIG FOR LEAVING HER AT THE ALTAR!
Comopolitan has more unseen photos of their wedding. A celebration so low key that Miley's sister Noah wore a beanie?
