Alicia Vikander might star in The Girl in the Spider’s Web
I have mixed feelings about this. One the one hand, I’ve been dying for a sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo since the movie came out almost six years ago. On the other, I’m gutted that Sony is choosing to move on without Rooney Mara and David Fincher. I love what they did with the first one, and I would hate for them to recast.
But right now, Alicia Vikander is becoming a frontrunner for Lisbeth, which figures. She’s The Next Big Thing. She killed it in Ex Machina, and is going to get a lot of attention in The Danish Girl, possibly more than Eddie Redmayne. And she’s actually Swedish. It would be a great change of pace for her too, since she’s done mostly period dramas.
Apparently Mara didn’t get the memo, because she told E! Online: “As far as I know I'm doing it until someone tells me otherwise.”
“I'm doing it unless someone tells me that I'm not—and then I still might do it,” Mara said with a laugh.
Just kidding. NOT. I WILL CUT THIS B-TCH.
