5 Christmas movies that won't make you throw up

Dan in Real Life

Actually, I don’t remember if this is a Christmas movie. Was there a fir tree in the trailer? Whatever. Steve Carell plays an advice columnist who falls in love with a woman (played by Juliette Binoche), only to find out she’s his brother’s girlfriend. Charming movie, beautiful location. Back when Dane Cook was still relevant.

The Family Stone

This dysfunctional family will make your feel better about yours. Sarah Jessica Parker tones down her bubbliness as an uptight businesswoman who can’t fit in with her boyfriend’s eccentric family. I love this movie because it’s sentimental without bumping your gag reflex.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

Just hear me out on this one! Charles Dickens’s classic sappy story about Ebenezer Scrooge is told almost entirely by Muppets, save for Michael Caine and a few other humans. Tiny Tim is pathetically played by a frog, and is so ridiculous that it’s funny.

Die Hard

I haven’t seen this, nor do I have the patience to, but the rest of the planet probably has. Bruce Willis stars as a police officer who tries to save his wife, Holly from a German terrorist. You know this movie is from the ‘80s, because duh, terrorists aren’t German anymore.

The Long Kiss Goodnight

A woman suffering from amnesia (Geena Davis) is happily living a domestic life when a bump on the head reminds her that she’s actually a secret agent. With the help of detective, Mitch (Samuel L. Jackson), they go looking for the bad guys. Totally underrated action movie for fans of good girls going bad. I've attached one of the most badass scenes I've ever watched.
